Job Description:

The Patient Account Coordinator serves as a resource to staff, physicians, customers and patients; assists management; promotes Altru initiatives; acts as a resource in the absence of the Patient Account Supervisor; contacts fiscal intermediaries proactively and discusses prevention, correction or compliance of patient bills; assists in monitoring bad debt and charity write offs; assists with reporting mechanisms for revenue producing areas, marketing, accounting and administration; assists in analysis of collection agencies; monitors collection flows making detail transaction correction, and works with Social Work department and outside sources to assist patients with financial needs. Required: Two (2) year business/technical school or equivalent work experience in business or health related field. # Experience in collections of health care accounts. # Effectively demonstrates multi-tasking capabilities within job and projects while maintaining a positive, professional and customer service based attitude. # Ability to work cooperatively with a variety of individuals and groups. # Experience in analysis, trending and modifications of workload. # Proven problem solving, organizational, and time management skills. # Proficient in software applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Access, Internet). # Ability to work independently. Preferred: # Effective verbal and written communication skills. # Previous experience in planning, development and implementation of new programs. # ICD, CPT, and HCPCS knowledge. # Knowledge of medical terminology.

Required:
