Good Samaritan Health Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Cook to join our team in delivering nutritious, wholesome meals to underserved communities. This position is instrumental in supporting our mission to provide holistic health and wellness services by preparing high-quality food that meets the dietary needs and preferences of our community members. Our ideal candidate demonstrates culinary competence, the ability to work in a dynamic environment, and a passion for making a positive impact through food. Plan and prepare meals that accommodate the specific dietary restrictions and preferences of our community Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and food items, ensuring freshness and proper storage Collaborate with nutritionists to develop healthy, balanced meal plans Ensure that kitchen activities operate in a clean and safe manner, adhering to health and safety standards Provide food service for special events organized by the health center Train and supervise kitchen volunteers or junior staff members when needed Proficient in various cooking techniques and kitchen equipment Understanding of nutrition and dietary needs Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment Experience in menu planning and inventory management Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Food Safety Certification (e.g., ServSafe) is preferred Culinary training or certifications would be advantageous
