to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Oakes, North Dakota, 58474! Job
Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical Surgical
Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Day/Night Rotate Hours per Shift: 36
hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC (if ER nurse)
Must-Have: - Confident in skills like assessments, infusion pumps,
medication administration, social skills, teamwork, and
reliability. - ER experience preferred, but first-time travelers
are welcome. Description: Unit consists of 20 beds with nurse to
patient ratios of 1:5. RNs are required to titrate drips including
Insulin, Heparin, and Levophed, as well as manage set rate
medications like Amiodarone. Mindray Monitors are used for
telemetry, and nurses are responsible for reading strips and
maintaining documentation. A charge nurse is on-site 24/7 and does
not take patient assignments, as they cover other duties. Certified
Nursing Assistants and Patient Care Technicians are available to
check vital signs, chart, document intake and outputs, and assist
with activities of daily living. Respiratory equipment includes
Hamilton C1 ventilators with CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen;
however, ventilated patients are not maintained on this unit.
Nurses manage respiratory treatments. Scheduling follows a block
pattern depending on staffing needs, with the schedule provided six
weeks in advance. Every third weekend is a required assignment,
with weekend shifts being 7a-7p or 7p-7a. Flexibility is
appreciated for floating to assist in the ER, but it is not
expected as the initial option. Scrubs are provided with no
specific color requirements. Unit-specific orientation is available
depending on staff availability. Experience in critical access
