Surg Location: Oakes, ND Start Date: 05-18-2026 End Date:
08-17-2026 Contract Type: Travel Contract Shift Type: Rotating
12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; manager-scheduled block
scheduling with schedule posted 6 weeks in advance; includes every
3rd weekend and holiday rotation; may float to the ER as needed

Assess and monitor medical surgical patients, performing focused
and thorough patient assessments Administer medications and manage
infusion pumps with accurate drip titration Interpret telemetry
strips and document cardiac rhythms using Mindray monitors Manage
respiratory equipment including Hamilton C1 ventilator modes, CPAP,
BiPAP and high-flow oxygen Provide skilled, compassionate care for
common diagnoses such as CHF, A-fib, falls and bowel obstruction
Collaborate with CNAs, PCTs and the interdisciplinary team to
ensure smooth patient care and documentation Titrate drips safely
for medications like insulin, heparin and vasopressors per protocol
Support unit needs by floating to the ER when required and stepping
into multiple roles in a critical access setting Qualifications
Active RN license eligible for submission in North Dakota Minimum 2
years of recent Med Surg or relevant acute care nursing experience
Current BLS and ACLS certifications; PALS, NIHSS and TNCC as
applicable Comfortable and experienced with infusion pumps,
medication administration and drip titration Experience reading
telemetry strips and using Meditech for charting Able to work
12-hour night shifts, weekends and holiday rotations Team player
with strong communication and reliable attendance Education
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or diploma in nursing accepted
BSN preferred but not required Knowledge & Skills Med Surg nursing
fundamentals and medical-surgical assessments Infusion pump
management and set rate/drip titration Telemetry interpretation and
Mindray monitor familiarity Meditech electronic charting experience
Respiratory equipment management including Hamilton C1 ventilator,
CPAP, BiPAP and high-flow oxygen Strong teamwork, patient
communication and adaptability in a critical access hospital
