Job Description Job Description Neurologist (MD/DO) Position
Summary The Neurologist provides comprehensive evaluation,
diagnosis, and management of disorders of the central and
peripheral nervous system. This role includes care for patients
with acute and chronic neurologic conditions in outpatient and
inpatient settings, utilizing evidence-based practices and
collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient
outcomes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose,
and manage patients with neurologic disorders, including stroke,
epilepsy, headache disorders, multiple sclerosis, movement
disorders, neuromuscular disease, dementia, and neurodegenerative
conditions Provide outpatient neurology care and inpatient
consultation services as needed Interpret and manage neurologic
diagnostic studies such as EEG, EMG/NCS, and neuroimaging,
consistent with training and privileges Develop and implement
individualized, evidence-based treatment plans Participate in acute
neurologic care, including stroke evaluation and management, as
applicable Collaborate with primary care providers, neurosurgery,
rehabilitation services, psychiatry, and other specialists Educate
patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and
disease management Maintain accurate and timely clinical
documentation Participate in quality improvement, patient safety,
and outcomes initiatives Supervise and educate residents, fellows,
advanced practice providers, or medical students as applicable
Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional
standards Qualifications Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of
Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
Completion of an accredited Neurology residency program
Board-eligible or board-certified in Neurology Ability to obtain
and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure DEA registration
or eligibility Skills and Competencies Expertise in neurologic
disease diagnosis and management Strong clinical judgment and
diagnostic reasoning skills Excellent communication and patient
counseling abilities Ability to manage complex and chronic
neurologic conditions Commitment to evidence-based,
patient-centered care Work Environment Outpatient neurology clinics
and inpatient hospital settings Call coverage as determined by
practice or service needs Physical Requirements Ability to sit,
stand, and move throughout clinical environments Manual dexterity
for neurologic examinations and procedures Visual and auditory
acuity sufficient for patient assessment and interpretation of
diagnostic studies Requirements Must maintain state certification
and/or licensure. Must be legally licensed to practice medicine in
North Dakota and/or Minnesota, depending on the location of the
practice to which you are assigned.
