Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Labor and Delivery - Discipline: RN - Duration: 12 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, rotating - Employment Type: Travel Travel RN – Labor & Delivery / Postpartum / Newborn Location: Jamestown, ND Pay: ~$2,600/week gross Shift: Rotating 12-hour days/nights Start Date: ASAP | Contract Length: 13 weeks Facility Snapshot: Located in Jamestown, ND, this critical access facility provides full-scope obstetric and newborn care with a small, close-knit team. Job Duties: You’ll provide comprehensive perinatal care across: - Labor: Full labor support, vaginal exams, fetal strip interpretation, assisting with deliveries - Postpartum: Fundal/lochia checks, pain management, newborn assessments - Newborn Care: 24-hour screens, weight/color checks, return visits Common Tasks: - Head-to-toe assessments - IV starts - Breastfeeding support - Use of fetal monitoring (Philips & OBIX) - Medication administration via Omnicell - Charting in EPIC ? Requirements: - License: ND RN license or Compact RN license - Experience: Minimum 1 year in L&D, Postpartum, and Nursery - Certs: - BLS (Required) - NRP (Strongly Preferred) Schedule: - Rotating Days/Nights – 12-Hour Shifts - Weekends: Every 3rd - Holidays: Every 3rd - Staffing: Always 2 nurses on Family BirthPlace unit - Floating: Assisting staff in Med-Surg (PCU) and Emergency Department (helping hands only) Unit Details: - Unit Beds: 3 LDRPs, 4 patient rooms, 2 exam rooms - Ratios: 1:1 for labor; 2–6 total patients depending on acuity - Care Model: Mix of couplet and split care (newborns/postpartums) - Dress Code: Hospital-provided scrubs Orientation & Training: - Hands-on orientation - Fetal monitoring basics - NRP training offered Rural healthcare experience strongly preferred.
