Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 06/23/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 12 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel RN Med Surg Float Pool Job Description - Fargo, ND Position Overview - Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical Float Pool - Location: Various units/locations in Fargo, ND (Broadway and SMCF campuses) - Schedule: 12-hour day/night rotating shifts, every other weekend (EOW), every other holiday (EOH), no call - Shift Preferences: Accommodated when possible, not guaranteed - Dress Code: Navy scrubs Job Duties - Perform head-to-toe assessments - Administer medications via multiple routes - Formulate and document care plans - Provide wound, line, and drain care - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care Types of Procedures - Comprehensive patient assessments - Medication administration (IV, oral, subcutaneous, etc.) - Wound care and dressing changes - Management of lines and drains - Care plan development and documentation Equipment Utilized - Epic: Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system - Accudose Rx: Medication dispensing system - Alaris IV Pumps: Infusion pumps for IV therapy - Philips Vitals Machines: Patient monitoring equipment Required Skills and Experience - Minimum Experience: 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical (MS) experience in a busy large hospital (minimum 200 beds) - Preferred Experience: Previous float pool experience - Licensures/Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) - must be American Heart Association (AHA) - North Dakota or compact state RN license Floating Requirements - Units/Departments: All med-surg units on Broadway and SMCF campuses, including: - General med-surg - Trauma med-surg - Cardiac - Neuro - Oncology - Observation - Medical behavioral - Innovations - Med-surg overflow spaces - Med-surg status patients in critical care units Unit Details - Bed Size: 24–47 beds per unit, depending on the specific department - Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: - Days (7 AM–11 PM): 1:4–5 About iDEAL Hire iDeal Travel Staffing is dedicated to working with the best of the best in travel healthcare.
