(NDCC 14-02.4)ABOUT THE POSITIONThis position is responsible for a variety of social media and website management, clerical, data entry, and general administrative functions in support of the Grand Forks County Emergency Management office.Typical Duties and Responsibilities:The following duties are typical for this classification. Applicants may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth to address business needs and changing business practices. Serve as the administrative support person for the Emergency Management office.Posts and manages content of Emergency Management office social media sites.Performs receptionist duties, answers phones, route calls, answers public inquiries about services available.Organizes and prioritizes projects and tasks.Works independently and within a team on special and ongoing projects.Provides backup for other department staff as needed.Resolve questions and concerns from citizens.Coordinate and collaborate with a wide variety of internal and external department heads and team members.Research grant and other funding opportunities.Collaborate with management on grant and RFP writing.Attends work during regularly scheduled hours.Perform other duties as assigned or apparent.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCEAny combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:Education: High School diploma or equivalent and one (1) year administrative/office experience. Post-secondary course work in emergency management, marketing, public administration, or related fields are a plus.Experience: One (1) year of office experience, marketing, social media and website administration or any combination of equivalent education and experience. Experience in the field of emergency preparedness is a plus.ACCOUNTABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONSThe following generally describes the knowledge and ability to enter the job and/or be learned within a short period of time in order to successfully perform the assigned duties. WORKING ENVIRONMENT:The work environment is generally a typical office setting, occasional performance of duties in an outdoor setting during events. May require telecommuting as appropriate.HAZARDS:Accidents improbable outside of minor injuries, such as abrasions, cuts, bruises; little exposure to health hazards. Has some variation in daily assignments or change in work pace and timeliness for end product.
