Operator II Salary: $27.11/hour NDDOT Temporary Equipment Operator
I Salary: $24.01/hour As a Temporary Equipment Operator, you will
perform highway, roadway, and structure maintenance. This includes
operating heavy equipment to perform required maintenance duties
like basic snow and ice control/removal. You will complete highway
maintenance duties, which include assisting in installing,
repairing, and maintaining highway signs and guardrails. To
complete these tasks and others assigned you will operate power
tools and other equipment to perform maintenance duties. Part of
this job is to keep the roadways clear of any hazards; this
includes litter, waste, debris, garbage, and carcasses. You will
complete building and ground maintenance duties and general routine
maintenance of the roadway and radio system equipment. You will
also perform minor preventive and repair maintenance on vehicles
and equipment. Maintain necessary paperwork, including time
records, activity reporting, daily diary, road reports, etc. You
will receive training and perform construction project duties under
close supervision. An important part of this position and the
culture at the NDDOT is to maintain a safe working environment for
yourself, your coworkers, and others. Minimum Qualifications To be
considered as a Temporary Equipment Operator II, you must have a
valid North Dakota Class A driver license with airbrakes and a
cargo tank endorsement and two years of relevant experience. To be
considered as a Temporary Equipment Operator I, you must have a
valid North Dakota Class B driver license without airbrake
restrictions. This position requires reporting to work within 30
minutes, after hours, on weekends, and on holidays during emergency
events. Employment of the selected candidate will be contingent on
satisfactorily completing the interview process and the required
drug test, medical screening, reference check, driver record check
