Job Description Job Description Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic Job Description We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic who is mechanically inclined and has welding experience. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth operation of equipment used in processing corn into corn syrup and cornmeal. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with machinery repair, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting, and will thrive in a fast-paced, industrial environment. Responsibilities Perform preventative and emergency maintenance on processing equipment. Conduct routine greasing and lubrication of machinery. Repair and maintain pumps, conveyors, and related components, including changing seals, valves, and piping. Execute motor alignments, bearing maintenance, fluid changes, and gear box replacements. Replace belts on augers and maintain conveyor systems. Diagnose mechanical issues and perform disassembly, repair, and reassembly of equipment. Utilize welding skills for fabrication and repair as needed. Essential Skills Mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting skills. Ability to weld and work with metal components. Experience in farm equipment maintenance or automotive repair. Familiarity with industrial machinery and power transmission systems. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in industrial maintenance, farm machinery repair, or automotive mechanics. Comfortable working independently and as part of a team. Work Environment This role is based in an industrial processing building which can be loud and hot, with work in all areas of the building, including some outdoor work. Generally, you will work with one other person on major projects, but most preventative maintenance tasks are done independently. Work hours are Monday to Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with rotating on-call duties every 5-6 weekends. There is little flexibility on start time, between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. You will automatically be paid 5 hours of overtime for being on call, even if you are not called in, and a minimum of 4 hours of overtime if called in. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wahpeton, ND. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
